Caltex were supplied with an inferior quality product from a local Australian supplier. The product was rejected even though the manufacturer claimed it was suitable for the job. GLP were approached to rectify the issue, having extensive knowledge of the process involved in the refinery, and its required performance.

GLP were prepared to accept the reject coalescer and manufactured a high quality product suitable for its process requirements. After providing the modified coalescer, Caltex were able to install the improved product with ease.

  • Last Piece of the Puzzle for Tassie LNG

    GLP to design, build Micro-LNG plant & pipeline in Tasmania.

    GLP Plant has been awarded the contract by Tas Gas Networks to design and build the gas supply pipeline infrastructure between the Tasmanian Gas Pipeline (TGP) and the BOC Micro-LNG Plant being built at Westbury in Tasmania.

    The BOC Micro-LNG Plant will have the capacity to provide 50 tonnes per day of LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) to the heavy transport sector. This is the equivalent of 70,000 litres a day of conventional diesel, and is also being designed, built and commissioned by GLP Plant.

    Peter Ramsey, Managing Director of GLP Plant said, “We are proud to have been selected by Tas Gas Networks for this work. It validates the time and effort we have invested in building world-class expertise in the small LNG plant market.”

    The plant is expected to be fully operational mid 2010.

  • GLP “All Systems GO” for Westbury LNG

    All systems are now GO on the 50 tonne/day Micro-LNG Plant. GLP’s Managing Director Peter Basil Ramsey attended the recent ‘ground–breaking ceremony’ at the site in Westbury, Tasmania.

    The GLP Group was selected after undergoing an approval process of more than 12 months demonstrating its high level of engineering excellence in innovative design and construction in modular style plants.

    This Micro–LNG Plant involves the combination of technologies from both Linde–BOC and GLP which will produce the equivalent of 70,000 litres of Liquid Natural Gas as a cleaner, more economical fuel alternative for the heavy transport industry in Tasmania.

    With final design, hazops and procurement of major equipment now complete, work on site will soon progress.

  • GLP to design, construct infrastructure for BOC LNG in Tasmania

    GLP Group has been contracted by BOC to design and construct the supply chain infrastructure, including road tankers and six refuelling stations, for a micro-LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) plant in Westbury, Tasmania.

    Construction on-site will begin in either late September or early October 2009.

    A 25-30 metre offtake from the Tasmania Gas Pipeline will be included in the micro-LNG plant, which will process the gas and store LNG at the facility. LNG will be distributed throughout Tasmania to fuel the transportation industry.

    The LNG plant will have the capacity to produce 50 t/d (the equivalent of 70,000 litres of conventional diesel).

    The plant is expected to come online in late May or early June 2010.

  • GLP to supply separation, liquefaction to Callide Oxyfuel

    GLP Plant Pty Ltd has signed a contract with Callide Oxyfuel Services Pty Ltd (COSPL), a consortium of companies, to supply CO2 liquefaction and air separation plants.

    The objective of the COSPL project is to demonstrate a complete and integrated process of oxyfuel combustion within a National Electricity Market. The plant is a demonstration of greenhouse gas elimination and clean fuel technology. The old Callide A power station near Gladstone in Queensland, AUSTRALIA is being refurbished for this purpose.

    GLP will complete assembly of two air separation plants, total Oxygen separation capacity 660 tonne/day, supplied from France including design and installation of civil, tie-in piping and electrical work.

    GLP will also design and erect a 100 tonne/day CO2 liquefaction plant to enable liquid geosequestration – safe long-term underground storage of liquid CO2 in spent oil and gas wells and coal seams.

    Project scheduled for completion February 2011.

    GLP has supplied a 16 t/hr Ammonia Unload Facility to BHP Billiton Yabulu Refinery. Completed November 2006.

  • Water Management Still Installed at BHP Billiton Yabulu Nickel Refinery

    GLP completed delivery of a new Water Management Still to BHP Billiton for the Yabulu Refinery Extension Project north of Townsville. The Column was delivered and erected in January, 2006.

  • GLP Commissions Distributor Test Rig

    GLP now has installed at our Tullamarine workshops a test rig for flow testing of high technology distributors and internals. The rig is designed for testing of internals up to 2100mm in diameter with the ability to retrofit capture hoods suitable for testing up to 4000mm in diameter.

  • GLP Commissions Large Evaporative Cooler for New Guinea

    GLP has designed and commissioned a large evaporative cooler to be supplied to a major New Guinea Gold Producer, using detailed thermal and mechanical design. The cooler is required in order to upgrade capacity of existing air separation plant in order to increase oxygen production. GLP completed preliminary analysis and feasibility work prior to award. The package was installed and commissioned during third quarter of 2005.

  • GLP Delivers Glycol Filtration Package

    GLP completed delivery of a 2500# Glycol / Methanol Filtration Package during June, required as part of extensions to existing natural gas plant facilities at Port Campbell, Victoria.

  • Desuperheaters for Caltex

    These are desuperheaters for Caltex in their Clean Fuels Project for the Lytton and Kurnell Refineries. We believe these are the first Australia Built Spray Desuperheaters ever built in Australia.
    These desuper heaters will design to have 1:10 turndown and were design and built to very high QA standards which including welding with dissimilar metals. Each desuperheater included the recommended (GLP) stainless steel wear plate for shut up times.

  • H2S Scrubbing Facility

    GLP has delivered and commissioned a substantial H2S Scrubbing Facility installed on a new power station site in Werribee, Victoria. The contract was won against strict budget and delivery constraints.
