GLP 's High Alumina Support Balls (>99.2% Al2O3) are purpose fabricated from a specially formulated high purity alumina material and calcined to ensure the following properties:

  • Maximum crush strength
  • Highest temperature resistance
  • Thermal shock resistance
  • High sphericity for low pressure drop
  • Ultra-low impurities
  • Ultra-low porosity and water absorption

These High Alumina Support Balls are suited to high temperature / high severity applications where leachable components or water absorption can cause process issues or catalyst poisoning, or where ultra-high mechanical strength is required.

Ceramic Random Packing
Raschig rings, ceramic

Ceramic Raschig rings are the 1st generation of random packing, consisting of ceramic rings, used in mass transfer applications such absorption and stripping towers. They are not generally recommended for new applications unless for specific purpose, due to the high pressure drop and lower mass transfer efficiency compared to newer packing types such as Ceramic Saddles. Ceramic Raschig Rings are commonly used in Sulphuric Acid plants, or in applications where corrosion resistance is important, or where specific properties are required such as high mechanical strength.

Bio rings, plastic

Bio Rings are specifically designed to provide a high surface area for micro-organisms to grow without being mechanical removed in compact digesters.

The bio rings can be packed as a fixed bed or fluidised arrangement enabling the bio film to feed at a large range of flows.

The bio ring can also be used as a mass transfer ring for gas scrubbers or for thin bio film growth, making them also suitable for processes as circulated carriers in a tank.
